In Donoughmore, County Tyrone, aged 106, Mrs. M’MILLAN, an old and respected inhabitant of that place. Mrs. M’MILLAN, whose health was excellent until a few days before her death, could scarcely be said to have tasted animal food for the last fifty years and altogether abstained from the use of spirituous liquors. Her character was at all times irreproachable and her charity such that the poor of the village deeply deplore her decease. (Blackburn Standard)

On the 29th ult. at Belfast, Wm. A. BLAIR, second son of James BLAIR Esq. Wellington place, aged 28, deeply and sincerely regretted.

On the 3rd inst. in Wellington street, aged (13?) years, of enlargement of the heart, Edward Arthur WILSON, fourth son of Mr. WILSON, principal of Fisherwick place Congregational school. He died resting upon the Lord Jesus Christ, who is the resurrection and the life.

In Dorset street, Dublin, aged 85, Mrs. MAGUIRE, relict of T. Robert MAGUIRE Esq., formerly of Tempo, Co. Fermanagh.

On the 21st ult. at Maxwell’s walls, in the parish of Connor, Mr. Francis BOYD aged 80, a respectable inhabitant of that place, much respected and esteemed by all who were acquainted with him.

On the 27th ult. after a short illness, Mr Robert M’ALLISTER, baker, of Downpatrick.

On the 18th ult. at her father’s house, Newry, Miss Christiana DALZELL. The youth, the beauty and high moral worth of this young lady will make her decease a subject of sorrowful meditation, not only to her bereaved relations, but to those friends who knew and appreciated her qualities.

On the 17th ult. at Coleraine, the Rev. John DINNEN in the 86th year of his age, being one of the oldest ministers in the Wesleyan Connexion. He was called to the itinerant ministry in 1785, in which, during the space of 36 years, he laboured with acceptance and was signally owned of God in turning many to righteousness. His piety was deep and ardent, his attachment to the doctrines of Wesleyan Methodism strong, and his administration of its discipline prompt, firm, and impartial.

On the 29th ult. at Kilea Glebe, aged 39 years, Mary, the beloved and amiable wife of the Rev. Charles SEYMOUR.

On the 28th ult. of liver complaint, Mr. Edward CROOKE, English teacher, of Enniskillen.

On the 17th ult. at Cloghroe, near Kilmacrenan, Mr. Robt. STEWART aged 85 years.

On the 29th ult. at the residence of Thomas HASTINGS Esq. of Creeslaugh, near Dunfanaghy, Miss DENNISTON, aged 99 years.

On the 29th ult. at Colkeeragh house, at the residence of her son-in-law, Richard YOUNG Esq. Mrs. CALDWELL aged 73 years.

On the 23rd Sept. last, at Mobile, of yellow fever, after six days illness, Mr. Ezekiel ANDERSON, fifth son of the late Mr James ANDERSON of Derry.

On the 8th inst. after a lingering and protracted illness, aged 47 years, Jane, wife of Mr. John HILL, North street, Belfast. Her remains will be removed to the burying ground, ShankhIll, on Friday at 3 o’clock.

On the 4th inst. in George’s street, aged seven years, of scarletina, James Robert, eldest son of Mr. Charles BARNETT.

On the 2nd inst. at his house in Ballymena, after a severe illness in the prime of life, Mr. Matthew CARSEN, much and deservedly regretted.

On the 6th inst. aged 14 years, Joseph, son of Mr. James STEVENSON, Drummiller, County Down.

On the 12th Nov. at Lexington, Kentucky, United States, in the 37th year of his age, George WEIR, merchant, fourth son of the late Wm. WEIR Esq. Lenaderg, Banbridge.

On the 10th inst. of consumption, in the 12th year of her age, Eliza Matilda, eldest daughter of Mr. George BROWNE of Drumbeg, and 14½ Arthur street, Belfast.

On the 3rd inst. Ann, wife of Mr. Thomas HERDMAN of Aughnamullan, in Killead, aged 74 years, who was much respected for her exemplary conduct in the relative duties of life.

On the 9th inst. at his residence, Drumhirk, near Newtownards, in the 60th year of his age, Mr. Thomas KNOX. He bore with patience and Christian resignation the occasional attacks of his disease for the space of 18 years and died in the full hope of participating of the pure joys of Heaven.

On the 30th ult. at Maghera, Mr. Robert M’DOWELL in the 86th year of his age.

On the 30th ult at Belfast, after a short Illness, Sarah NORWOOD aged 58 years. Deceased was a native of the parish of Inch.

On the 6th inst. Mr. John RANKIN of Bishop street, Derry, merchant, in the 46th year of his age.

On the 4th inst. at Straghroy, County Tyrone, in the 90th year of his age, Mr. John NORRIS, after a protracted illness.

On the 4th inst. at Buncrana, Jane, wife of Mr John RITCHIE aged 41 years.

On the 29th ult. aged 77 years, Mr. James M’ALEER, Moyle cottage, near Newtownstewart Co. Tyrone.

On the 8th October in New York, of consumption, aged 27 years, Mr. John DEAN, formerly of Derry, printer.

On the 7th inst. at Ballyvermott, near Bangor, in his 103rd year, Robin MAWHINNEY. He was in his best days, a man of very small stature, very active, and of a cheerful disposition, but he latterly became so little, that he was an object of curiosity and received many visits from the family of the late Lord Dufferin, Colonel Ward, and the gentry of the neighbourhood, whose beneficence and attentions smoothed his passage to the grave.

On the 24th inst. in Donegall square, Richard DOBBS of Castle Dobbs, in the county of Antrim, Esq. aged 87.

On the 18th inst. William Frederick, son of the Rev. W. M’ILWAINE, aged two years.

On the 19th inst. in Coronation place, Belfast, aged 48 years, Jane, the beloved wife of Lieutenant Wm. HAMMERSLEY, late 3rd garrison battalion.

On the 24th inst. Mr. James BROWN, mechanic, Bank lane, Belfast. He was kind and obliging and is deeply lamented by all his acquaintances. The concourse of individuals that attended his remains to the grave bore ample testimony to his worth as a respected townsman.

On the 25th inst. Mr. James BROWN William street South  Belfast, deeply and deservedly regretted by a large circle of friends and acquaintances.

On the 28th inst. Eliza, wife of Mr James WORRELL, of this town, (Belfast) and daughter of the late Mr. James TROTTER, of Tyregarty, near Blackwatertown. From early life she was most ardently and sincerely attached to Wesleyan Methodism and was a steady and consistent member of that society for more than fifteen years. She was a young woman of a very sweet and amiable spirit and was much endeared to all who knew her. She died happy in God her saviour, in the 31st year of her age.

On the 21st inst. at the house of his brother, North street, Belfast, Mr. Samuel GRAY, late of Antrim, a young man whose premature death is deeply regretted by a wide and respectable circle of acquaintances.

On the 11th inst. in this town, (Belfast) aged 55 years, Mr. James BAXTER, formerly of Quarterland, near Bangor.

On the 24th inst. Jane, wife of Mr. Samuel THOMPSON, Ormeau place.

On the 26th inst. aged 18, Samuel Arnold, eldest son of Mr. John WIGHTMAN of Drumnakelly, near Seaforde. He naturally possessed an amiable disposition which, being directed by religious principle had secured for him the warmest affections of an extensive circle of acquaintances. He was beloved by all who knew him and his removal is as extensively regretted.

On the 23rd inst. at Ballintoag, at the advanced age of 80 years, Mr. Thomas SANDERS much and deservedly regretted by all who had the pleasure of his acquaintance

On the 24th inst. in the 80th year of his age, Mr. Adam SHANKS, Gillnahirk, county Down.

On the 23rd inst. at Broughshane, Mary wife of Charles M’ELHERRON, formerly of Cloney, near Cushendall, age 59 years

On the 21st inst. at Dungannon, after a short illness, Eliza M’CORD, wife of the late Lieutenant M’CORD, of the 27th regiment, who fell at Badajos.

At his residence, Clanicknoy, near Glasslough, aged 58 years, after a few days illness, Mr. Wm. ARMSTRONG, son of the late James ARMSTRONG Esq. of Old Deerpark.

On the 15th inst. at Ballymena, Sarah Jane, wife of the late Mr. Mathew CARSON (whose remains were interred only twelve days).

On the 1st inst at Tynan, Co. Armagh Mr. John MORRISON of Commercial place, Belfast, in the 50th year of his age.

On the 5th inst. of water on the brain. aged three and a half years, Henry, second son of Edward LYONS Esq. A.M.

On the 2nd inst. John M’BRIDE Esq., of Mullyslane, aged 80 years.

On the 4th inst. at Fermoy, Martha PLUNKET aged 103 years A few hours before her death she told those about her that she would have died before noon, and directed that she might be interred in the evening of the same day, which was punctually observed.

On the 7th inst. at the Prairie Cultra, in the 80th year of his age, Alexander BLACKWELL Esq. Secretary to the Belfast _? Society for more than 30 years.

On the 11th inst. in the 10th year of his age, William, only child of Mr. Francis COATES, Castle-street, Belfast.

On the 23rd ult at Ballycraigy, near Larne, Mr. George WATT aged 69 years. He was a man of most excellent moral character and his loss is deeply regretted by all who knew him.

On the 7th inst. at Ingram place, Mr. Alexander STEWART.

On the 5th inst. at his residence, Lisadian, near Hillsborough, Mr. Isaac TURNER aged 58. He was a kind husband, an affectionate friend, a sincere Christian and much and deservedly regretted by a numerous circle of friends and acquaintances.

On the 3rd inst. at Glenmore, Fanny Dorothea the beloved child of Charles STYLE Esq. A rapid consumption carried her off after a four months illness, at the early age of 16, when her mental acquirements and enlightened piety gave hope of future satisfaction to family and friends.

On the 9th inst. after a short illness, Mr. Thomas EWART of Lisburn, in the 30th year of his age.

On the 5th inst. after a long and painful illness, aged 52 years, Jane, wife of Mr. John STEWART, Ballyeaston.

On the 4th inst. at Ballydargin, near Downpatrick of typhus fever, in her 28th year, Miss Grace PATTERSON, eldest daughter of Mr. Edward PATTERSON, much and deservedly regretted by all who had the pleasure of her acquaintance.

24 Mar. 1840 Decrease of Marriages
It has been ascertained that marriages have decreased fully a third in all the districts in which the Teetotal system has been introduced. This is a curious and important fact – one, however, which might well be anticipated. The day does not seem far distant when Ireland will be quite a new country.

On the 15th inst. by the bursting of a blood-vessel, Mr. James GILLESPIE, printer, of this town, in the 33rd year of his age. He was characterised by strict integrity, honourable and upright conduct and was an ornament to the profession to which he belonged.
