There were 353 protestant householders in Drumcree Parish. Flannagan, who says &#8220;It is known that there was a church in ruins in 1609 on this site. Shortly after, that a church was built which seated 500 people. A tower was added in 1812. The foundation stone of the present church was laid on Ascension Day 17th May 1855. This Church of Ireland church, which stands on the site of all previous churches, was consecrated on 28th Oct. 1856.
