Will - THOMAS COLHOUN of STRABANE, 5 July 1821

In the Name of God Amen

Thomas Colhoun of Strabane in the Co. of Tyrone Attorney at Law being weak in body but of sound mind and memory blessed be Almighty God for the same do make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner following I leave devise and bequeath all my properties both real and personal not disposed of in my lifetime to my sons John Colhoun and Isaac Colhoun and to my cousin Samuel Sproule of Ramelton Attorney at Law whom I appoint my Executors in trust for the use intent and purposes hereinafter mentioned and for no other use intent or purpose whatsoever and on the death of the same Samuel Sproule the trust to devolve to my son Samuel in conjunction with my sons John and Isaac the other Trustees and in case of the death of the said Samuel Colhoun then to my son Thomas in a similar way with the other Trustees that is to say to raise whatever sum of money not exceeding the sum of two hundred pounds as may be necessary for the purpose of admitting my son Samuel an Attorney and for the completing and finishing my son Thomas’s college course a sum not exceeding the sum of three hundred pounds and after completion of his college education in order to promote him in such professional or other pursuit as he may think proper to fix on I bequeath to him such sum of money not exceeding the sum of four hundred pounds as my said Trustees shall think fit I give and bequeath to my dearly beloved wife Jane Colhoun thirty pounds a year during her life together with the produce of my property in Portlington and as to the residue of my said property I will and order that the same shall be funded for the use of my six daughters namely Jane Isabella Catherine Fanny Mary and Elizabeth and their proportions to be paid them on their several marriages and my further will is that all my just debts shall be paid in witness whereof I have hereunto put my hand and seal this fourth day of February one thousand eight hundred and twenty one

Signed sealed published and declared by the Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in presence of us who have hereunto subscribed our names as Witnesses in presence of said Testator and in presence of each other

Proved at London 5th July 1821 before the Judge by the oath of John Colhoun the son and one of the Exors. To whom Admon was granted being first sworn by Comon. Duly to Administer power reserved to Isaac Colhoun and Samuel Sproule the sons also the Executors.
