The Rush brothers were the sons of William Rush and Margaret (or Marjorie) McGrath, of Dooish Townland, (or Omagh), Co. Tyrone. There were supposedly ten brothers, but I have been able to trace only these three - Michael, William and John. A fourth brother, Thomas Rush, may also have emigrated to Australia and joined his brothers. He appears to have been an invalid, perhaps mentally sub-normal. I know little about him. He is not the Thomas Rush mentioned on Michael’s tombstone. He seems to have lived with a son of John Rush.
