The Reverend Robert Stuart O’Loughlin and Alice (nee Fleming)

The next incumbent was the Revd. Robert Stuart O'Loughlin, 1877/86. Prior to his coming he had for two years been curate of Drumragh Parish, Omagh, and, on assuming this his first incumbency, he married Alice Catherine, daughter of Hans Fleming, M.D., Omagh. Only three years later she died, and a tablet over the vestry door bears the inscription: "In memory of Alice, the beloved wife of the Revd. R. S. O'Loughlin, incumbent of Sixmilecross, who fell asleep on 30th July, 1880 aged 31 years. In full assurance of a joyful resurrection this tablet has been erected by her many friends in this Parish, as a memorial of their affection and regard for her Christian character, as well as of sympathy for her bereaved husband and family." St. Michael's Church has also a silver-plated chalice in her memory, and it is simply inscribed: ''Six-Mile-Cross 1884: in loving remembrance of A. C. O'Loughlin".
