STRABANE MORNING POST:

November 11 1828

Died on the 2nd inst, in the Royal College, Maynooth, in the 24th year of his age, of a painful sickness, under which he laboured only for a few hours, after having obtained the comforts of religion, MR PETER WATSON, son of MR JOHN WATSON, of this town [Strabane]. His conduct has been always accompanied with the strictest piety - In the course of his academical studies of five years, he had repeatedly obtained the highest literary honours of the College; he had for the last and current year, from his regularity and respectability, filled a situation with the greatest trust and confidence, which he discharged with every attention and satisfaction, quitting this life deeply lamented by the Superiors and Professors of the College, his fellow students, and by all who had the pleasure of his acquaintance. To compress much in little, he was truly the Christian, the Scholar, and the Gentleman

October 26 1830

Married on Thursday last, by the Rev. John Doherty, MR JOHN KEENAN, Merchant, Lurgan, to TERESA, only daughter of MR JOHN WATSON, of this town [Strabane]

February 15 1831

Died on the 14th instant, after a tedious illness which she bore with Christian patience and resignation, to the will of Heaven, having received all the comforts religion could afford, MRS [MARGARET] JOHN WATSON, of this town [Strabane] ---- If hospitality, if benevolence of heart, and charity to the poor, command the tribute of a tear, her death will be sincerely regretted, not only by her family, but also by the distressed of every class, who were ever the special objects of her charitable attention

November 5 1833

Died in this town [Strabane], on Saturday the 2nd inst., after a few hours’ illness, MR. JOHN WATSON, aged 66. His last hours were cheered by the consoling rites of religion, and his remains were followed to the grave by a great number of Inhabitants of all denominations anxious to pay the last sad tribute of respect to and old an honest townsman
