April 17 1827

MELANCHOLY ACCIDENT

We are sorry to state, that on the evening of Wednesday last, as JOHN LYONS of this town [Strabane], was on his return from Derry, and when about three miles on his way, it is supposed he fell asleep, and falling from his cart, was killed on the spot. He was a young man of a good character, and has left a mother to bewail her loss, being her only support

[Died] February 27, JOHN LYON, ESQ., aged 29 years. His remains will be removed from his late residence, Gilmour's Lane [Londonderry], for interment in Leckpatrick burying ground, on Tuesday morning, 1st March, 1864, at ten o'clock
