STRABANE MORNING POST:

July 30 1822

Married on the 9th inst. by the Rev. Charles Hemphill, of Badony, the REV. THOMAS HAMILTON, Probationer of Cavanreagh, to MISS CAMPBELL, third daughter of HUGH CAMPBELL, ESQ. of Achilane, county Tyrone

April 1 1823

Died on Sunday evening last, MR. HENRY CAMPBELL of this town [Strabane]

March 13 1827

Melancholy Occurrence

On Sunday night, this town [Strabane]was visited by a very large Flood, in consequence of the rapid thaw which commenced on Saturday. The river continued to rise from the night until yesterday morning at three o’clock, when it gradually decreased. We are sorry to state that two children daughters of THOMAS CAMPBELL of Bridgend, met their death in attempting to get out of a boat, conveying them from the reach of the Flood, near their own house. One of them was got shortly after the accident, but died from excessive cold. The situation of the poor people at the foot of this Town and Bridgend is truly deplorable. We understand a subscription is now setting in foot, in order to alleviate their suffering - and we hope, from the well known liberality of the Inhabitants of the town, that it will be such, as it will meet the calamitous necessity.
