I am looking for information about my 3rd great-grandfather, Moses Cherry, from County Tyrone. He was married to Eliza Blackburn. Their son, Robert, came to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1847, aged 12 (roughly), on the bark Sultan sailing out of Belfast. There is no record of Moses coming on the ship, and he may well have been dead by then. Robert began life as a shoemaker, and Moses may have had the same trade.

Thanks for your help.

Surname: HEARD

Greetings County Tyrone! I'm hoping someone can assist me with locating birth/marriage/children ancestry records for STEPHEN HEARD (1583-14 DEC 1657) and CAPT. STEPHEN HEARD (unk-14 JAN 1696). Both men were laid to rest in Enagh Old Graveyard, Stradreagh. I'd like to learn how they are related to my GGFx6 STEPHEN HEARD (1695-1774) born in Tyrone County to an unknown HEARD. Any assistance that can be provided would be greatly appreciated.
Best in health, Brenda

Researching my Beatty/Beattie and Newberry family of Coagh St Cookstown, Tyrone. This sight has enabled me so find the CORRECT John Beatty, pensioner Married to Mary McDonnell in Derryloran parish. Their Dau. Sarah born in 1832 married Andrew Newberry in Cookstown - my gr-grandparents. (another John Beatty of Sligo and his wife Mary Ann Bleakley are mistakenly noted to be in my family tree) I found John, pensioner and Mary McDonnell-have other children - Letitia and Hugh - info found in this sight that correspond with birth, death & cencus records so I know I am on the right track...one question "pensioner" would that indicate he was retired from the Army?? as he was quite young when he dies. Sarah Newberry dies in childbirth in 1870 and Andrew Newberry dies in a workhouse in Hamilton Lanarkshire in 1891 - my g-grandmother, their daughter is Mary Newberry (1st husb Joseph Adger, 2nd husb William Robertson) Her Dau Janet Mckenzie Robertson was my Grandmother.
