This image is taken from a tintype in my possession. It is of
Robert McCauley, born at Beragh, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland on
February 22, 1848. He was married to Rosanna McCrystal in the Catholic Church at Beragh, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland on June 2, 1870 and they immediately left by ship for America. They homesteaded a 160-acre farm in Mitchell County, Kansas where Robert McCauley died on Aug. 2, 1900. He is buried in the St. John Catholic Cemetery, Beloit, Mitchell County, Kansas.

image is a cart de vise. The original was taken about 1875 and is in my
possession. Pictured are Robert and Rosanna (McCrystal) McCauley. Robert and Rosanna were born in Beragh, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. Roseanna was born June 24, 1851, the daughter of Michael and Margaret (Carr) McCrystal. Rosanna was married to Robert McCauley on June 2, 1870 and they immediately sailed for America. They landed at the Port of New York and then headed west where they homesteaded a 160-acre farm near the farm of his brother, John McCauley. Rosanna died January 24, 1939 and is buried at St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Beloit, Mitchell County, Kansas.
This image is taken from a tintype in my possession. On the back of the tintype is written, "Mother of Robert McCauley taken in Ireland." No further information is known. There is no tradition in the family that the parents of Robert McCauley ever immigrated from Ireland.
