OMAGH PETTY SESSIONS

Before COMMANDER CHARLES SCOTT, R.N., (chairman), GEORGE A. MOLONY, ESQ., and GEORGE HALL STACK, ESQ.

EDWARD McGARTLAND, Omagh

Charged by Constable DEVANE, with being drunk and disorderly on 4th inst., fined 5s and costs

MARY ANNE MURPHY and MARY ANNE MATHERS

Charged MARY JANE KILLEN, with having assaulted them at Omagh on 1st inst. There was also a cross case against the two plaintiffs for same offence at same time and place. Dismissed.

JOHN McGINN, Tattyreagh

Charged PATRICK McGRUIGAN and JOSEPH McGRUIGAN, Mullaghmore and PATRICK McVEIGH, Tattyreagh, with having assaulted him on the 6th inst. Dismissed.

JOHN TEAGUE, Tattyreagh

Charged PATRICK McGRUIGAN with like offence on same date. Fined 2s 6d and costs.

MICHAEL TEAGUE, Tattyreagh

Charged JOHN GRUIGAN and PATRICK McVEIGH, with same offence. Dismissed.

JOSEPH McGRUIGAN

Charged JAMES McCAUGHEY, with like offence. Dismissed.

PATRICK McVEIGH

Charged MICHAEL TEAGUE with like offence. Dismissed.

These cases arose out of a dispute between the parties to the right to a turf creel in a bog. There was a regular set-to among them, and some were thrown into a ditch, others received marks about head and face.

PATRICK GLACKIN, Ballinahatty

Charged by Acting Constable EDWARD HAYES, with being drunk on 24th ult., fined 5s.

 

A number of trespass, wages, and other cases were then taken up and soon after the court rose.
