The first trial was that of and, for burglary and robbery in the house of ISABELLA NICHOLSON, (a respectable Quaker lady), near Dungannon, in June, 1832. [Full details of the trial are reported, but too lengthy to report here] The Jury acquitted the prisoners |

A surgeon, of Fivemiletown, was indicted for administering unlawful medicine to MARY MAGUIRE, for the purpose of procuring abortion. The details of the trial are unfit for publication. The prisoner was acquitted, and the Court adjourned at seven o’clock |
WEDNESDAY, March 12

Was indicted for feloniously and burglariously breaking open and entering the dwelling-house of one ROBERT PENTLAND, at Aughavad, on the night of the 25th March last, and taking thereout £4 3s 6d in money, forty-eight spangles of yarn, and various other articles. The trial lasted from the morning until three o’clock, when the jury found a verdict of guilty, but recommended him to mercy. The Learned Baron concurred in the finding. He said he would attend to the recommendation but could hold out no other hope than that his life would be spared. He would, however, be transported for life. Sentence of death was then recorded |

A pensioner, for forging a Magistrate’s name to an affidavit. It did not appear that the forgery was done with any fraudulent intent, and he was acquitted. |
