The Sydney Gazette and New South Wales Advertiser

The under-mentioned prisoners having absented themselves from their respective employment and some of them at large with false certificates, all constables and others are hereby required to use their utmost exertions in lodging them in safe custody.

Any persons harbouring, concealing, or maintaining any of the said absentees, will be prosecuted for the offence.

POLICE OFFICE Mar. 22nd 1819.

The under-mentioned convicts, having, on the night of the 27th of February last, piratically cut-out and carried off the Schooner Young Lachlan from this Port, their names and descriptions are now published for general Information

Patrick COTTON, 5 f. 6 inches high, black hair, hazel eyes, aged 42, is a labourer, was born in the County Tyrone, and tried at Omagh in August 1817, sentenced for life, in the Minerva he arrived both at Sydney & Hobart Town.

Several Prisoners having absconded from their employment during this week, and particularly the undermentioned, it is hereby directed that every exertion shall be made on the part of the police, as well as the settlers and inhabitants of the colony, to apprehend the persons referred to who are suspected of the piracy of the brq. Trial, on the night of the 12th instant.

Charles RICHARDSON, arrived per ship, Guilford, tried at Mayo, in Mar. 1815, convicted for life, is 42 years of age, by trade a weaver, a native of the County Tyrone, is 5 feet 3¾ inches high, hazle eyes, brown hair, sallow complexion, and was Government servant to Patrick Downey, settler, and absconded on the 8th of Sept.

The undermentioned prisoners having absconded from the individuals and employments set against their names respectively, and some of them being at large with stolen certificates, and tickets of-leave, all constables and others are hereby required and commanded to use their utmost exertions in apprehending and lodging them in safe custody. Any person harbouring or employing any of the said absentees, will be prosecuted as the law directs.
