It appears she was left alone, and, in the meantime, it is supposed, set fire to her clothes while in the act of smoking. She was found burned in a shocking manner, but alive. Sergeant Jenkins had her removed to the Infirmary, where she lingered till Sunday, when death terminated her sufferings. |

BONER, James | 01 Jan 67 | Friday night, about eight o'clock, a gas fitter, named James Boner, died very suddenly in this City. He had been suffering from disease of the heart and was under the care of Dr. Harkin, from whose establishment he had been returning accompanied by a friend Hugh McLaughlin. He took suddenly ill and was taken to Mr. Roddy's Hotel where he was offered a drink of water which he had requested, he was unable to drink it, Dr. Harkin was called for and when he arrived Boner died a few minutes later. An inquest was held and the verdict returned was that Boner "died from a visitation of God". |
