Reference 1) Thos Kerr of Australia & Martha McCrea were married in Melbourne, Victoria on 1 Dec 1846 at the Free Presbyterian Church. Unfortunately it was before registration commenced, so this is taken from the church register and does not list their parent's names or place of birth. The witnesses were Gideon Rutherford of Avoca on the Wimmera and Mary Anne McCrea of Melbourne. On checking the Victorian Pioneer Index one finds these two people were married in 1847.
There were two more children born to Thomas & Martha (McCrea) Kerr while they were in Australia. They were; Archibald Kerr in 1847 at Melbourne, Victoria and Thomas Hunter Kerr in 1851 at Geelong, Victoria.
In addition, following up on their deaths one finds:- Gideon Rutherford died 1861, aged 42 yrs, born Scotland and Mary Anne Rutherford died 1873, aged 54 yrs, born Tyr. Father - Archibald McCrea, mother - Bridget Allen. Archibald McCrea was a saddler in Strabane and died in 1854 at Lifford.
Reference 2) Rev. James Budd was minister of Clady Presbyterian Church 1837-84 and was possibly supply minister to 1st Strabane during the interregnum following the death of Rev A. P. Goudy (d. 1857) and prior to the ordination of the Rev. James Gibson, 26 Sept. 1859.
