Lagnagalloglagh Rentals & Valuations, Leckpatrick Parish 1777-1858

Transcribed, compiled and submitted by Len Swindley, Melbourne, Australia

Lagnagalloglagh (the Hollow of the Galloglagh) [Galloglagh Scottish mercenary soldiers] (spelt variously), is a 156-acre townland within Leckpatrick parish in north Co. Tyrone and belonged the Manor of Cloghogall within the Abercorn Estate. The Abercorn Papers form a very large collection in PRONI, Belfast, which includes title deeds, rentals, leases and correspondence, some commencing in the early seventeenth century for both Tyrone & Donegal estates. The following data has been extracted from LDS microfilms; researchers should consult the comprehensive Family History Library catalogue for a description of this microfilmed archive. Alternatively, the originals may be consulted at PRONI, Belfast.
