On the morning of the 25th ult. Mary Cavanagh, a daughter of Patrick Cavanagh of Altclohfin, about four miles from Omagh, aged seventeen years, left her home at six a.m. to take care of some cattle, grazing on the mountain a short distance away. As she did not return for breakfast, a search was made, which lasted all day without success. The search resumed the following day, and her body was subsequently found under a large turf bank, which had apparently fallen on her. The discovery of this was somewhat strange as she accompanied by other girls had danced on the overhanging bank on the previous Sunday in an attempt of throwing it down

An inquest was held on Saturday last at Letterkenny by Dr. Long, Coroner, into the death of Samuel Coulter, aged eight years, son of Mr. James Coulter, clerk to the County Inspector. The child had retired, in good health, on Thursday evening, at about midnight he was seized with a violent retching which continued until six o'clock on the following evening when he died. F.T. Porter, Esq., L.R.C.S.I., who had attended the boy, stated in evidence that death had been caused by the purpuric fever know as "Black Death", and that death had been accelerated by the too free use of sweets and unripe fruit. A verdict was arrived at in accordance with the facts. (?)

On the morning of Tuesday the 31st May last, Oliver Curlis, a respectable inhabitant of the town of Clogher, left his residence at an early hour, nothing being heard of him until about nine o'clock, a.m. Dr. Twigg, the medical superintendant of the union workhouse, on his way to that establishment, discovered his body in the water, standing in an almost erect position about forty yards above Ballymagowan bridge and 200 perches from his own house.

He at once sent for the police and gave the alarm at the workhouse, but when the body of the unfortunate man was removed from the water, life was found to have been extinct for a considerable period. James Buchanan Esq. Coroner held an inquest on the body, which was adjourned for a further inquiry. Deceased has left a wife to deplore his untimely end.

Though he had lost the use of his limbs about ten years ago, he retained his faculties to the last.

An inquest was held yesterday, Monday, before Mr. M. Lloyd, coroner, on the body of James Donaghey, who died suddenly. It appeared that deceased was at work on Saturday, but had to be assisted home at eight o'clock, and died about ten minutes after entering his house. Medical assistance was procured, but life was extinct. The medical evidence at the inquest was that deceased died from a rupture of one of the blood vessels of the heart, and a verdict was returned accordingly

An inquest held on Saturday, before G.H. Mitchell, Coroner, assisted by Pechell Irvine, Esq., J.P. on the body of a man named Donnelly. The jury deliberating for sometime found, "that the deceased died from exposure to cold". Donnelly who came from the neighbourhood of Greencastle, had, on Thursday, been drinking in a public house in Moville with his brother and John Farren, Henry Cavanagh and Valentine Devor. On the way home a dispute led to their comrades assaultong the Donnelly brothers. The police were informed that as a result of the fight there was a body lying on the road. A search was made and no body was found, the police arrested Farren, Cavanagh and Devor. On Thursday night Donnelly's body was found in the snow near Carrownaff Cottage, the residence of some of Donnelly's friends. (?)

Henry Dugan, a car driver, left Simm's Hotel Strabane, at about six o'clock on Saturday evening with Captain Stewart and Montgomery Sinclair, Esq., as passengers, who he drove to the latter's residence at Hollyhill, about three miles from Strabane, which he left at about seven o'clock to return to Strabane. On Sunday morning a farmer found his body on top of a heap of stones and it was supposed that he was unsuccessful in mounting his horse which was found in a field nearby in the townland of Ballee. An inquest was held yesterday, before Dr. Hamilton coroner, and a verdict in accordance with the facts was returned. The deceased who was of temperate habits, leaves a wife who is expecting their first child
